Daniel
I. Caplan, M.D.
After
receiving his Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine,
Dr. Caplan completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the Ochsner
Clinic in New Orleans. He is a former Vice-President and n board member
of the New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a former Chairman
of the Eye Department and Member of the Medical Executive Committee
at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA.
Dr. Caplan is a pioneer in Refractive Surgery and Vision Correction
Procedures, having been among the first in the region to perform Radial
Keratotomy in the early 1980's and Laser Vision Correction and LASIK
in the 1990's. He has successfully performed thousands of Laser Vision
Correction Procedures. He has taught the procedures to dozens of other
Eye Surgeons and he has lectured throughout the country on Vision
Correction Procedures. He created a commercially produced computer
software to track vision correction surgical outcomes. Dr. Caplan
also specializes in Small Incision Cataract Surgery.
Dr. Caplan is the Medical Director and CEO of the Caplan Eye Clinic.
He is a member of the Clinical Faculties of the Tulane University
School of Medicine and the Louisiana State University School of Medicine.
He is the father of two children. |

Daniel J. Dodson, M.D.
After graduating from Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Dr. Dodson attended LSU in Baton Rouge and obtained his M.D. degree from the LSU School of Medicine. Dr. Dodson then completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at Tulane Medical Center. Dr. Dodson specializes in modern small-incision cataract surgery, the treatment of glaucoma, and eye plastic surgery.
Dr. Dodson and his wife, Courtney, have two young children. In his spare time, Dr. Dodson enjoys all outdoor sports, including golf and tennis. Dr. Dodson and his wife are both from Mandeville. |

Barbara A. Noguchi, M.D.
Dr. Noguchi is a specialist in Vitreo-Retinal surgery and diseases. After graduating from UCLA, she received her Medical Degree from the Tulane University Medical School. She completed a fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans.
Dr. Noguchi has written and lectured extensively on retinal diseases. She specializes in various retinal surgery and laser procedures, including the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. She is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Tulane Medical Center.

Stephen M. Welcker, O.D.
Dr. Welcker graduated from the University of New Orleans with a degree
in Biological Sciences. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree
in 1979 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Welcker has been in practice for more than 20 years. He enjoys the many aspects of family eye care. He specializes in fitting contact lenses. Dr. Welcker has been a clinical research investigator for FDA studies on contact lenses.
Dr. Welcker is a member of the Louisiana State Association of Optometry and has served as Vice President of the New Orleans Contact Lens Society. He is married and has two children. He enjoys golf in his spare time.
